In 1976, Egbert and Emmy Meindertsma started an automotive parts business in De Klomp: Meindertsma Automaterialen De Klomp — MAD.
During that period, many popular vehicles, such as the Opel Rekord and Ford Granada, were equipped with LPG systems to keep motoring affordable. Although these vehicles had been developed for general day-to-day use, the heavy LPG installations and additional cargo placed extra demands on ride height, stability and driving comfort.
To ensure that vehicles continued to perform optimally under these changed conditions, MAD developed its first auxiliary spring.

Temperature influences or prolonged periods of inactivity (corrosion) can reduce braking performance, which may become noticeable through steering wheel vibrations or a pulsating brake pedal. This can negatively affect driving comfort, braking performance and safety.
To restore braking performance, MAD developed the brake disc aligner, enabling braking performance to be improved accurately and efficiently.
While the basic technology has remained unchanged over the years, accuracy and ease of use have been continuously optimised. Even today, this principle proves its value: electric vehicles rely less on conventional brakes, resulting in faster corrosion of brake discs. Our machines restore brake discs instead of replacing them unnecessarily, providing a targeted and sustainable solution.
Every day, technicians, service teams and drivers are exposed to significant physical strain while loading and unloading equipment and materials. With the introduction of EasyLoad, MAD made it possible for a single person to load and unload loads of up to 500 kg safely and in a controlled manner.
As vehicle applications and user requirements evolved, EasyLoad evolved as well, into tailor-made solutions for special-purpose vehicles and applications such as sewer inspection.
